Cleaning Up Pet Food (not Pesach related)

Hi Rabbis!

We are about to get a dog, and the dog’s food is not kosher. Should we plan to wash food bowls in our laundry room sink or is it okay to wash up in our kitchen sink with a separate/dedicated sponge? How should we best handle the dog’s dishes?
