I recently purchased Dried Fruits (apricots, plums,peaches, pears, apples, angelino plums and/or pluots), Nuts (specifically cashews), and Dates with no Hechsher and country of origin - unknown from Piping Rock of Ronkonkoma NY. When I requested from the company whether Israel is one of the source countries for these items they told me that:
“I am sorry to inform you that, we do not provide the country of origin for our ingredients. I wish I could have helped you with this but our system nor our policy won’t allow us to do. Please accept my sincere apologies in this regard.”
:Do I have to worry about these items being from Israel and having to take trumot and maasrot from these items, not to mention orloh issues?
