Hot water kettle

If we have the hot water kettle on the counter all year round can we use it for Pesach? We don’t put chametz on it but the question is do we need to suspect maybe chametz or flour fell on the outside of the kettle during the year?

You can use it. It’s not a problem.

Hi Rabbi. Am I correct that, similarly, this kettle may be used on Pesach after simply wiping off the granola? The case is my toddler placed her hands with (likely chametz) granola, and she rubbed that (not hot) granola onto (not hot) handle of unplugged Pesach kettle. Thank you Rabbi.

Correct. Just clean it.
