If I set a coffee pot on a timer to make coffee on Shabbat, after the coffee is brewed and I pour a cup can I return it to the coffee maker to keep it warm? Or is that like putting it on a fire? Does it need a blech?

Could you make a blech out of a few sheets of aluminum foil and return the pot to the coffee maker?
OK so here are a few things to know.
- A liquid cannot be returned to the fire even with a blech.
- If you are still holding the pot in your hand and have not yet put it down you can return it to the fire if there is a proper blech.
- If you are still holding the pot but you put it down on the counter, for example, you may no longer return it to the fire even with a blech.
- Two sheets of aluminum foil (foil would need to be visible from all sides even once the pot is placed on top of it.) would suffice as a proper blech to be able to return the pot to the fire if you still haven’t put it down yet and it’s still in your hand.
