If you keep soup on a hot plate for shabbat can you ladle soup from it while it is on the hot plate, or should you first remove it? if you remove it, can you return it?
I’ll answer the second question first.
If you take it off, you cannot put it back without a blech if the soup gets over 125 degrees F.
Yes, you can ladle soup directly from the pot when it’s on the hot plate and/ or when it’s on a stove.
