Do you have to use a lamb shank bone for zeroah at the Seder? Can a chicken bone or something else be used?
The Zeroah is a remembrance for the Korban Pesach which was a burnt lamb offering. We do not perform the Korban Pesach anymore, so anything that can be used to symbolize the Korban works.

I’ve heard of some vegetarians using a roasted beet as zeroah. Does this sound ok to you?
Do you think a Beet is a good way of remembering a Korban Pesach? I mean the whole idea of Korbanot (animal sacrifices) is an antithesis to a vegetarian lifestyle.
