9 days questions

Is it okay to throw clean clothes on the floor to get the a little dirty and wear them on the 9 days?

Also if one is wearing clothes for a little bit before the 9 days, how long do you have to wear them for?

Can you use clean towels during the 9 days?

1.As long as the clothing is not freshly laundered it can be worn on the 9 days.

2.Please see above, therefore it shouldn’t take long to for the item to not be freshly laundered. 5-10 minutes should surely suffice

  1. Freshly laundered Towels, undergarments as well as shirts can we worn.

I want to make sure I’m understanding this correctly. If an item was laundered the day before it’s fine to wear?

Actually the opposite.
One is NOT permitted to wear freshly laundered clothing on the 9 days.
Therefore the suggestion was made to wear them prior to the 9 days for 5-10 minutes- which renders them “un-fresh”.

Got it! What about polo shirts? Are they considered like a t-shirt/undershirt?

if someone needs to “un-freshen” clothes DURING the nine days is there any method that works, such as putting them on the floor for a while?

Yes polo shirts, as well as dress shirts are all considered unimportant piece of clothing, that are infused with sweat and are all permitted freshly laundered.

To answer your next question, yes, even that $75 Shabbos shirt, but wear it on exclusively on shabbos .

Those methods never found favor with the Rav

Just simply wear them for 5-10 minutes

is it hachanah to wear clothes for 5-10 minutes on Shabbat?

but that doesn’t work during the 9 days when one can’t wear fresh clothing. what do you do if you run out of pre-worn clothes?

Then you have no choice but to wear it now, as opposed to next week which is more strict.

If it’s obvious that you are doing it for next week it would be.

If you happen to wear an article of clothing on shabbos that isn’t necessarily shabbos attire you may now wear it next week on the 9 days.
