My front yard has no gate around it. If I want to take a chair and put it right next to the steps of my porch, is there a certain amount of steps I’m allowed to take to sit on a chair or carry a siddur?
You would only be able to go out on the porch if it is fenced in or the floor of the porch of 10 tefachim off the ground on all sides. Beyond the porch would not be permissible since the area is not fenced in.
