Chitosan - kosher, like gelatin, or different

I just learned of a substance, chitosan, which is derived from the shells of various crustaceans. it has many uses, but the ones i was focused on are food based- it’s added to some asian noodles, apparently? Bottom line, would it be considered kosher (similar to gelatin, or for a different reason) or not? Much thanks.

Yes similar idea to gelatin. It has no taste and comes from shells.
