Hi, how do you know Titos vodka and Chopin is okay? What makes them both kosher for passover?
I’m guessing that you looked at the “Brand” and did not look at which item from that brand was approved.
The Chopin is specifically their potato vodka. It’s made from potatoes.
The Tito’s is what is made from corn.
Please read the list carefully, and don’t skip columns.
Yes the titos is made from corn and is gluten free, so that makes it kosher? What about the factory and that aspect?
The factory is kept clean and the keilim are kept clean to avoid tasting a flavor that doesn’t belong there. That’s the key. The flavor. If they’re careful to avoid allowing random flavors that don’t belong, then from an Halachic perspective it’s not a problem.
Follow up question regarding Chopin Potato Vodka. I looked up the ingredients (thought I could figure this out on my own, but here I am after all!) and it’s made from potatoes, water, and yeast. Is the yeast an issue? Does it matter if the yeast is from wheat or another grain? Thank you!
It would matter if the yeast is derived from Wheat. If it’s on the list its been vetted and found to not contain chametz.
