Hi. I was wondering if this item is kosher. I don’t know about the packets that come inside. Those I will assume are not kosher unless they have a reputable hechshire on them. But what about just the fresh fish?
It’s a problem
What is the issue?
You don’t know what fish it really is once the skin is removed. Halacha requires the skin to be intact.
Even for salmon?
Salmon is distinct and can’t be easily mixed up.
Wouldn’t Tuna fall under the same category/reasoning? It’s just as distinct as salmon.
I don’t think so.
Read about the Subway tuna scandal.
Wait I am super curious about this -I googled the subway scandal-that suit was dropped also that is cooked/canned tuna ( tuna salad) -They did not end up proving that the tuna was fake - and isn’t Costco a reputable store that would not sell tuna as another fish?
True. My point with the Subway story is that there was even a case. This couldn’t happen with Salmon. And it’s not illegal or against regulation to say you’re using one fish in a product and then actually use another.
