Can i make hagala on my stainless steel pots (so that i can use them for passover) even though the lids have a silicone rim? A bit of the rim goes inside the pot when i cover it and has definitely been touched by food before and gotten oily etc.
It’s a little hard to know without seeing it, but this is the rule. If it’s perfectly clean, you can do Hag’alah.
Practically, I don’t know if there’s food trapped in there. If there’s something that can be disassembled and cleaned, that would be best. Otherwise, make sure it’s completely clean and Kasher it.
