If possible can you find out the source of the alcohol used in the vanilla extract from the company?

I called Haagen Dazs. They said it is alcohol extract from vanilla beans. It’s is not grain based.
Is it ok?

Did they say the alcohol is not grain based? Or were they talking about the vanilla beans?
If it’s the alcohol, then it’s fine but that sounds a bit off.
