I know this topic came up before but I don’t believe anyone asked this specifically-
Why is hard cheese a problem today if the ingredits are okay, BUT the reason for the geveira perhaps doesn’t apply on the same level today.
What I mean is- the reason (I believe) that hard cheese is prohibited is because of assimilation and too much interaction. What about where today we don’t go to people’s homes to get these products and they are massively available in stores. Would the fact that its Rabbinic decree and perhaps the reasoning not applying have any affect?
(And even though Kosher certified is available, perhaps the price difference could play a role for this issue)
