havdalah : keeping the wine in one hand and besamim at start

what is the Rav opinion on

1 - having the besamim in the left hand at the start of havdalah and during wine beracha
2 - switching the cup of wine on left hand during besamim and ha’eish berachot

aruch hashulchan says both are not necessary at all, but the shulchan aruch mentions them
what is Rav Abadi shlita position on those points ?

If my memory serves me correctly the Rav did neither of these.

Additionally he told me it’s not required to pick the cup back up on the balance of Havdalah after he made the bracha on aish.
