Kiddush at Shul. Is it a mitzva?

If there is a kiddush at shul are you fulfilling the obligation to have one of the three Shabbos meals. There is amongst other foods, mezonot but no bread.

Abie

No. You need bread.

But, if you are gluten free for health reasons, you fulfill the mitzvah, correct?

Incorrect
A person who can’t eat bread, can’t eat bread and is patur.

Back to the reason behind the original question. Is it a Mitzva in any way to go to a kiddish on Shabbos.
Other than maintaining sholom Bein Adom Lechavero…if the Baal Simcha will have a serious complaint against you for not coming (Taane).

Abie

Not that I’m aware of.
