No. You need bread.
But, if you are gluten free for health reasons, you fulfill the mitzvah, correct?

Back to the reason behind the original question. Is it a Mitzva in any way to go to a kiddish on Shabbos.
Other than maintaining sholom Bein Adom Lechavero…if the Baal Simcha will have a serious complaint against you for not coming (Taane).
