What makes something kosher or not kosher?
Kosher Ingredients.
I mean to ask, what is the difference between Rav Abadi’s approach and the approach of Kashrut Agencies like the OU, for example.
Kashrut agencies often operate as businesses, so their policies reflect practical needs more than strict halacha.
For instance, some require certifying an entire facility rather than a single product because it simplifies their workflow.
Others avoid relying on bitul, even though it is accepted in halacha, because it is complex and they prefer straightforward procedures.
In addition, some agencies try to accommodate many opinions, standards, and minhagim, so they certify only products that satisfy those broader expectations.
