Hi,
this is my first pesach married and koshering my kitchen. I will be cleaning everything very well and discarding what is chametz (cereal, flour). For things in my fridge and pantry that aren’t chametz, do i have to throw out? or can i set aside cover / tape up the closet.
thank you
Mazal Tov!
Chametz that you keep in the house but sell to a non-Jew you want to tape up those cabinets.
Kitniyot (if you are Ashkenazi) doesn’t need to be taped up, but it might be easier.
In any case, no need to throw it out of it is not chametz.
Here’s another very important point for a newlywed. NO NEED TO SEARCH FOR CRUMBS. We look for big pieces like a small pretzel or cookie. Cleaning for crumbs is spring cleaning. It has no connection to Pesach.
got it.
thank you,
How do i properly kosher my stove top and oven?
