Can I take my mezuzahs down when we move out of a rented apartment? We are moving 800+ miles away and it will be a hassle to get the mezuzahs at a later date. They are being taken down temporarily while the apartment is painted for the next tenant. Thanks!

Assuming the buyer is Jewish , what the Rav usually advised was to offer the buyer the opportunity to buy them from you at the price that you request, and if they buyer doesn’t want to purchase them you are free to remove them.
