Lighting Chanukah Candles at different time than wife

I will be home at Shkiyah with two of my kids. My kids are young and excited about Chanukah. My wife will only be home after the kids bed time. Is it better to light earlier with the kids or light later with only my wife? If I’m lighting earlier, would my wife light on her own?

The ideal would be to wait for your wife.
However, if the children are old enough, let them light before bed for chinuch and then you can relight when their mother gets home.
