Many people are makpid on Matzot for the Seder that are “Shitat HaRosh”. What does that mean?
The Shitah of the Rosh has nothing to do with Leil Haseder.
The Rosh says once your start working with the dough, and then you leave it, it becomes Chametz instantly. If this is to be taken literally, all our Matzot are Chametz.
There are many explanations to the Rosh, but I’ll leave that out for now.
When the matzah companies advertise “Shitat HaRosh” what do they mean?
I don’t know if everyone does it the same way, but some only work in one Matzah at a time. This way there’s no waiting before rolling holes and no sitting on the stick before putting in the oven. I hear it can cost $75/lb!
What was the Rav’s opinion? Did he have any chumros or kulos in matzah baking in general?
Follow the Shulchan Aruch and be a Yirei shamayim. That is all.
It seems like that was Rav Abadi in one sentence. “Keep Shulchan Aruch and be a Yerei Shamayim”.
