I have a ceramic platter that was used for meat (hot) in the past, could I use it to serve warm fish and veggies (pareve) during a dairy meal?

Did the fact that it’s been years make a difference in your answer? What if I just used it for meat would it still be ok? Do I wait at least 24 hours ?
