Mezuzah for attic

Hi there Rav, I had a question. I recently rented a house that has an attic. I do not ever intend to use it. The only entrance to the attic is located in the bathroom, where through a small cabinet-like opening you climb upstairs. does it require a mezuzah ? thanks!

The fact that you do not plan to use the attic would not suffice as a reason NOT to put a mezzuzah, since its part of the house.

On the other hand from your subsequent description I would doubt the attic has a room size of 8 foot x 8 foot and therefore would be exempt.

If it is in fact 8x8 I would need more info on the doorway/cabinet size opening. Also when you say it opens to stairs, is there any type of door frame at the top of the stairs?

here are pictures of the opening.

No it does not require a mezuzah.
