just curious - mustard seed which is related to radish, turnip, broccoli and is obviously not a legume, why is it
no-no for ashkenazim on pesach?

Lol. I don’t know what drove that minhag. I’m guessing that if you bought Mustard seeds in those days, you often found wheat in it. It is based on a cultural situation from a half century ago. It’s hard to know for sure what and why things were included. Unless we have a specific Sefer clarifying it for us.
