Pyrex writing

Hello,

Does the red etched writing on Pyrex measuring cups pose a kashrut issue if the glass is being used interchangeably with meat and dairy? I’m not sure if it’s just considered glass like the rest of it or if it might be bolea.

The red writing is on the outside of the measuring cup so we don’t need to worry about the glass being bolea.

However, one should have dedicated utensils for milk and meat. You can change between milk and meat without koshering the glass, but not on a consistent basis.

Would it be okay to use on Shabbos, or would that be a problem of “measuring”? Additionally, would your intent matter?

I’m not sure what your question is. Intent for measuring?

Are you allowed to measure on Shabbat?

Nope

Are you allowed to use the etched lines on a baby bottle to get the right ratio of water to baby formula?

The formulas I have used require 2 oz specifically for a spoonful of baby formula

Baby bottles are not an issue as long as your not super exact on the measuring. In other words, if its a little higher than 2ozs and you need 2ozs, you are not allowed to pour a little out.
