Rabbanut in israel

Is it okay to eat in rabbanut restaurants in israel, or are only mehadrin restaurants ok? does it matter if its meat or dairy?

Meat, no.
Dairy, it depends who is the owner, he must be a ירא שמים

Why meat no? Is it because of Glatt - one who doesn’t keep glatt would you still say no?

It has nothing to do with keeping Glatt.

One of the challenges with the Rabbanut is that every city is different. I spoke to someone recently who has intimate knowledge of many of the Rabbanuts in Israel and he said the gamut ranges from completely treif to more Mehudar than some of the Badatzim.

We’re not really in a position to advise on this. You need someone who is up to date on each one individually.
