Reading Tehillim at Night

I heard though not sure if its true that someone should not read tehillim at night unless your reading for a sick person. What is the Rabbi opinion on reading tehillim at night, not for a sick person? First part of weeknight night? After Midnight? On Friday night? Yom Tov Night? Rosh Chodesh Night?

Its ok but preferably not. Meaning if you have a schedule that you need to keep to or some commitment its ok.

Does it make a difference if its shabbat night, Yom Tov at night or Rosh Chodesh at night? The reason I ask is that my little one sometimes wakes up in middle of night and I would prefer to read a little while he plays.
