Salad brachos

A salad w tomatoes, olives, pieces of feta cheese, leafy greens, a yogurt salad dressing, all kind of mixed together, but each piece is still distinct, and sometimes you might pick out a single piece of something to eat it. How do you go about the brachos rishonos and achronos?

Great question.

It’s impossible to answer without seeing the plate in front of you. If it’s mixed together then it’s one bracha. Which bracha? I don’t know.

When you don’t know you would have to make brachot on other items to cover all possible brachot needed for the salad and then you can eat the salad without an additional bracha.

Alternatively you can wash for bread and then eat the salad.

Following the last eitza, could I have less than a kezayis of bread to cover all the brachos rishonos and afterware make a brachah achrona? If the are are olives in the salad, would I make an al haeitz and borei nefashos, or still just borei nefashos because the olives are a miuyt or considered a tafel?
