Standing for Chazarat Hashatz and Keriat Hatorahh

Should you stand or sit for chazarat hashatz and keriat hatorah?

Sit for Kriat Hatorah, stand for Chazarat Hashatz if it’s not diffucult.

If the tzibbur sits first both, or stands for both, should I do what everyone else is doing?

The general rule is, it doesn’t matter what everyone else is doing.

In specific circumstances there may be reason to avoid Machloket or whatever.

לא תתגודדו- לא תעשו אגודות אגודות

This doesn’t violate לא תתגודדו.

(When discussing with the Rabbi, he said requires it’s own לא תתגודדו Chelek of SHulchan Aruch!)

What does that mean?

It means it’s very nuanced and requires Da’at Torah and a lot of Shikul Hada’at to make the decision what is and isn’t a problem.

Thank you

I follow Rabbi Abadi and I usually sit for Kriat Hatorah.

Rabbi Abadi also said that if I am sitting, then I shouldn’t get up for certain pesukim where everyone stands (such as Aseret Hadibrot, Oz Yoshir, and the last possuk in a Seder) because that is in effect showing that some pesukim are more important than others.

Would this also hold true on Shevuot during the Kriah of the Aseret Hadibrot?

I was told that even Sefardim who sit for Kriat Hatorah all year, will stand up during the reading of the Aseret Hadibrot on Shevuot .

True for all parts of the Torah. The Rav sat through it all.
