There’s no problem smearing it on the skin.
There’s another issue and that’s Refuah. The Rabbi considered this to be included in the prohibition of Refuah - preventing a sunburn.
Would that not fall under maachal briim as it’s generally done as preventative health?
Would this be prohibited in someone on medications that increase risk of skin cancers?
How about for children?
The Rabbi said it’s Refuah. Especially for someone at risk of skin cancer.
I don’t know why it would be any different for kids.
It’s worth noting that this is different than someone who put on moisturizer every day. That’s done more as maintenance, while this is actually used as Refuah - albeit proactively.
