Is מים אחרונים still a necessary procedure?
I haven’t felt any מלח דרומית…
Yes it is still necessary. One of the reasons for מים אחרונים is to have clean hands when saying ברכות which definitely still applies and will always apply.

what is the correct shiur of water for מים אחרונים ? enough for the fingers or more (reviit?) ?
should women do it also ?
The shiur is enough water to cover till the knuckles. A revis is NOT required.
The salt or dirt that we wash off is an equal opportunity offender. It clings to women’s fingers just as tightly as men. So, yes everyone should wash.
