I am looking into to moving into suburban Philadelphia. I have an elderly aunt who lives alone who would welcome me to stay at her house for a few weeks while I check things out. I was worried about yichud. Is there anyway to permit this?
Is there a neighbor or friend with a key that can just walk in?
Would it help to give a key to a friend or relative, telling them they can feel free to come in any time?
We reviewed this with the Rav to be sure and the suggestion of leaving a key with a neighbor won’t help in your case as you will be sleeping there at night and it is not customary for people to enter the house in the middle of the night.
